I have the same problem/desire - to access my A767 phone filesystem to allow me to email attachments. Any help would be appreciated. (There are posts as to how to access the filesystem from a PC - i.e., to alter the firmware, but i need to know what to alter.

James Hiott, I couldn't agree more with your statement. I have a Samsung SGH-M310 phone (cheap foldable crap), and it completely seem to refuse upload both via Bluetooth and OTA, giving nothing more than "Java Error" in response.

I've contacted my service provider, which states that they have not modified the cellphone to have any artificial restrictions (yeah, right... I really do belive that their customer service knows anything about those technical details) and Samsung themselves, which simply states that their devices are restricted to OTA delivery all across the field.

So I kinda figure I should get a cellphone that is not fscking crippled by design...

You are correct about AT&T. I have a Samsung Propel (sgh-a767), using AT&T Mobility. I have found that any third party app that is not signed by AT&T is restricted. They will not be allowed access to the file system, camera, address book, sockets, etc. I would like to control access permissions myself, considering the fact that it's my phone, and being a computer geek by trade, I want to look around, learn it's guts, and maybe write my own apps, just as I have done with every computer from timex/sinclair to commadore 64, to IBM pc, xt, various clones, dos 3.3 to 6.22 , windows 286, 3.11, 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP....etc. What the 'ell? gimme my access, I want root access. HOW CAN I GET IT??? (on MY PHONE...) any help would be greatly appreciated...... --Tym
